"Mapping Old Mecklenburg"

The Congress held the annual general meeting through a webinar and Zoom programs in conjunction with The Charlotte Museum of History on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. 

The program included presentations about Mecklenburg County in the Colonial and Revolutionary Eras:  the roads, rivers, fords, ferries and other features in the Colonial and Revolutionary Eras.

11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Presentations about historical maps and mapping.

12:15 pm - 1:00 pm: Annual general meeting of the Congress.


1:00 pm - 2:00 pm:  Interactive program about the composite map recording information about Mecklenburg County in the Revolutionary Era.

General Meeting

The Congress held the General Meeting for 2019 in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

After the business of the Congress, presentations examined the  roads and other revolutionary-era features of the area. 

The Congress visited the site of the old gaol and courthouse and the causeway .

The Board of Directors met on Saturday, February 15, 2020, in Lugoff, South Carolina. Plans are underway for a program scheduled, tentatively, on Saturday, August 8, 2020, and a meeting of the Congress in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday, November 7.
